New Entrant – 360 Operator

The aim of this 3 day programme is to raise the standard of health and safety awareness by giving our ourse participants the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to operate the machine safely. This course will also help participants to comply with statutory requirements as outlined by SOLAS. on the machine – on completion of this training, the candidate will be issued with a provisional CSCS card.

This then allows the candidate to work, under supervision, and must log 200 hours work on the machine in a minimum of 6 months and maximum of 2 years. On completion of this work experience, the candidate must present themselves for a full test (1 day) before a full CSCS card will be issued.

 

Attendee Requirements

All trainees must be minimum 18 years of age and have 3 months general on site experience and require the following,

  • One Passport Photograph
  • PPS Number
  • Safe Pass completed in date
  • PPE (personal protective equipment) i.e., Hard Hat, High Vis Vest, Steel Toe Capped Boots, Gloves, Facemask

All the above requirements are required on the day of the course and must be physically with you in person.

As this course is conducted through English any specific needs/requirements should be identified at time of booking.

Otherwise an approved SOLAS interpreter would need to be provided on-site for the duration of the training course.

The interpreter would need to be approved in advance of the course and be capable of translating any technical words associated with the programme. None-English-speaking learners are not permitted on the course.

Once you receive your SOLAS New Entrant candidate pack it must be returned to us 72 hours in advance of the booking taking place.

NOTE: SOLAS rules state that they require 7 days’ notice from us to run a specific CSCS course.

Who Should Attend

This is a three day introduction for beginners to learn the basic operations of the 360 Excavator.

Course Modules

Day 1 Theory:
– Site Induction
– Review safe operation of plant and machinery
– Introduction to the machine

Day 2 Practical
– Introduction to the machine
– Servicing and pre start checks
– Basic introduction to the controls
– Manoeuvring around the site
– Inclines and declines
– Basic operation of the machinery

Day 3 Practical
– Continued Basic operation of the machinery
– More advanced skills in the operation of the machinery
– 1 HOUR PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT FOR EACH CANDIDATE

Duration: 3 days

Participants: Up to 3 participants / 1 Instructor

Time: 8am-4.30pm

Assessment

1 Hour Practical Assessment for each candidate.

Accreditation

On successful completion of the 3 day course the candidate will receive a New Entrant (provisional) operators card and log book and will be eligible to gain supervised experience on site over the aforementioned period.
