Manual Handling Practical

The aim of our Manual Handling training practical course is to raise the standard of health and safety awareness and is a continuation of our theory course which must have been completed with us online by purchasinng the manual handling theory course which can be found under online courses on our website.

Once you pass the theory course you will receive your theory certificate which you download and you are now ready to complete your practical course. Your Manual Handling practical training must be booked within two weeks of completing your theory course and will give participants knowledge and skills to correctly per-assess, lifting, carrying, lowering and moving of objects using proper techniques and once completed you will receive your full manual handling certificate.

It will identify best health and safety practice under Safety, Health and Welfare Work Act 2005, Safety Health and Welfare at Work (General Application Regulations 2007-2016.

Once you have booked your Manual Handling practical session you will receive an email with your zoom login link which explains everything you need before your practical session takes place. Your zoom link will be sent during office hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.

 

Attendee Requirements

Part 2  is a practical session which is completed online once the theory course has been completed online with us and you receive your theory certificate.

Participants are shown a series of videos with manual handling techniques which they must demonstrate online to complete the practical element of the course.

Course participants should wear loose fitting comfortable clothing (trousers) and closed toe shoes.

As this course is conducted in English any specific needs/requirements should be identified at time of booking.

 

Who Should Attend

Anyone whose work includes Manual Handling activities i.e. the transporting or supporting of loads that includes lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving of heavy or awkward loads, where those activities are likely to lead to back injury.

Course Modules

Course covers the following:

  • Manual Handling priciples and Techniques.

Additional Course Information

You must book your practical sesion minimum 4 hours inadvance of your course booking.

An email will be sent out with your zoom login details and all your practical requirements for the prctical session during office hours only Mon-Fri 8am-5pm

Live video Manual Handling practical demonstrastions by tutor and practiced by student:

  • Lifting to and from a counter.
  • Lifting to and from a height.
  • Pushing & Pulling.
  • Two team lift.

Items required

  • Small box.
  • Trolley.
  • Person to assist in your two person lift.

All the above is explained in the email each participant is sent.

 

Course Duration

Duration: 15-20 minutes per person

Participants: 3

Venue: Virtual Training delivered online via zoom.

 

 

Assessment

Once your practical assessment takes place participants are shown the following,

  • Series of videos demonstred by Instructor covering the 11 princpiles of safe lifting.
  • Each participant will  practice and demonstrate the follwing techniques,
  • Lifting to and from a counter
  • Lifting to and from a height
  • Pushing and pulling
  • Two team lift which requires another person to assit you in completing ths technique. English speaking from both participants will be required.

Accreditation

Participants who successfully complete this course will be awarded an ECS Safety and Training Certificate of Attendance & Competence by a QQI Level 6 Manual Handling Instructor.  This certificate is valid for 3 years.

Cost

FREE COURSE – Please note your online Manual Handling theory course must be purchased and completed first at a cost of €30pp before completing this free practical session.

The aim of our Safe Pass Training Course is to ensure that all workers within the construction industry have the basic knowladge of health and safety, construction regulations, and are able to work on-site without been a risk to themselves or others where they might be affected by there acts or omissions.(HSA 2021). Minium 8 people required and a maximum of 20 to run this course.

Our location is ECS Safety & Training, Brownsbarn, Co. Dublin and is excessable by car only.

Manual Handling Practical

Our Manual Handling Training course is taken once you have passed your theory course with ECS Safety & Training online. We will run through a series of different practicals which you will use in your workplace. All you have to do is enroll on your free practical assessment choosing your required date and time.

Once this is completed you will be sent your Zoom login link via email with all details relating to your practical assesment online during office hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm excluding bank holidays.

New Entrant – 360 Operator

The aim of this 3 day programme is to raise the standard of health and safety awareness by giving our ourse participants the knowledge, skills and attitude to enable them to operate the machine safely. This course will also help participants to comply with statutory requirements as outlined by SOLAS. on the machine – on completion of this training, the candidate will be issued with a provisional CSCS Card.
